IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Recently there have been phone calls from an unknown person to area residents in which the caller says something to the effect of “Fraud has been detected on your card. It has been used out of state. To get more information, press one.” This is NOT a call from The Bank of Mauston, or one of its affiliates, and is more than likely not a legitimate claim. Customers are advised to NOT press one, but rather just end the call.
In the event that fraud has been detected on your bank issued debit or credit card, a fraud specialist from The Bank of Mauston will contact you directly and identify themselves as being with The Bank of Mauston. If questionable activity is detected on your card after normal bank hours, or on a weekend, you will receive a phone call from an automated service or a live person with Vantiv (The Bank of Mauston’s contracted card provider and fraud monitoring company). In either case, the call will be identified as being made on behalf of The Bank of Mauston. If you receive an automated call, it will leave a call back number for you to follow up with, you will never be asked to press a key to be connected to someone. If you are still unsure, the best thing for you to do is to NOT give out any information, hang up and call us back at 608-847-6200.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact The Bank of Mauston’s Debit Card Manager, Donna Hineline.
